Liverpool are weighing up a move for Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Injuries to the likes of Naby Keita and Arthur Melo mean manager Jurgen Klopp is light of options in the middle of the park and Rodriguez has been identified as a potential target.
The Argentinian international was linked with both the Reds and Arsenal in the 2021 summer transfer window before interest cooled in the player, so it seems they have been keeping tabs on him for quite some time.
Betis are also believed to be willing sellers. Rodriguez will only have eighteen months remaining on his contract in the New Year and he is expected to be sold for around €25m (£22m).
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will actually enter the market for another midfielder in January. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is already back in training, while Keita is likely to be available again in the coming weeks too.
