‘5M At Least’ ‘As Long As We Can Have A Player In Return’ Fans React As PL Club Tries To Sign Liverpool Star For FREE

Brighton are planning to make an enquiry about signing Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a free transfer this month, according to reports in the UK.

The 29-year-old, who was signed from Arsenal for £35m five and a half years ago, is out of contract at the end of the season, but the Seagulls would like the Reds to end his stay at Anfield early.

Fans on Twitter are mostly against giving away Oxlade-Chamberlin, although they are hoping that it could lead to talks over a deal for either Moises Caicedo or another player:

It does seem like Brighton would be chancing their arm by making such a play for Oxlade-Chamberlain. The midfielder is not exactly a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and he may leave when his current deal expires, but you can’t see a free transfer being sanctioned before the summer, especially as Liverpool still have a long injury list.
