Liverpool’s interest in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has been well documented but recent reports have suggested that the Reds have pulled back from making a move for the Bundesliga star.

The Reds have been pretty smart in the transfer market over the past few years, with sporting director Michael Edwards having recruited the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson for reasonable fees.

Any hesitation over Werner is likely down to whether the club feel he is overpriced, especially in the light of the current global financial situation. However, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea circling, they may want to move quickly.

With the German having scored 27 goals in 37 games this season, supporters feel the player will be more than worth the outlay.
