REPORT: Benfica Turn Down £62m Bid From Liverpool For 19 Year Old

Benfica have rejected a €70million (£62m) bid from Liverpool for attacking midfielder Joao Felix, according to reports in Portugal.

It is not known when the Reds made the offer, but it is said the Portuguese club’s chairman Luis Felipe Vieira was unwilling to consider the Merseyside club’s proposal.

Felix is not only interesting Liverpool with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Barcelona also believed to be keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.

The Portugal Under 21 international has had a decent first half of the season, having made 18 appearances in all competitions for Benfica, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

His best performance of the campaign came earlier this month when he scored a brace in the 4-2 win over Rio Ave.

Felix only made his first-team debut for Benfica against Boavista back in August but has already begun to make a name for himself in Portugal. He usually plays as a number 10 but can also play out on the flanks.
