‘A Beast’ ‘He Is Better Than Andre In Tackling’ Fans Excited As Liverpool Are Linked With 21 Year Old

Liverpool have joined the battle to sign Boca Juniors holding midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims that the Reds, AC Milan and Benfica are all keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Fernandez’s Boca play in the Copa Libertadores final at the start of next month, where they will face Fluminense, who have another Liverpool target, Andre, in their ranks. The Brazilian international has also been linked with Arsenal so, if the Merseysiders do miss out on the player, Fernandez could be the alternative they are considering. Fans on X have been discussing the merits of buying the Argentine:

A Liverpool player is already a big fan of Fernandez

It’s very likely that Fernandez has been recommended to the Reds by one of their own players. Alexis Mac Allister spent some time at Boca and, when speaking about Fernandez last year, he said:

“There is a player that I really like and that is Equi Fernandez. He is a player who has all the conditions to reach Europe one day and I hope that can happen to him. He is a player that I like a lot, he understands the game a lot. He is always prepared to receive the ball, he plays with both legs, he can play as a five, as an inside player… he is a player who has certain very good conditions.”

Fernandez’s profile fits what the Reds need

The Argentinian youth international is very much in the mould of someone like Javier Mascherano and Jurgen Klopp’s side could do with a player who can cover the ground and break up play in the middle of the park.

With Boca’s season ending soon, they will probably be amenable to letting Fernandez go in January too.
