Liverpool’s display against Watford was one of the worst they have put in during Jurgen Klopp‘s reign as manager, and one of the poorest performers was Dejan Lovren.
The Croatian replaced Joe Gomez in the starting line up with the England defender ruled out due to a minor injury, but the centre-back struggled against Troy Deeney, and the Watford captain revealed after the game that he had targeted the 30-year-old.
Supporters on Twitter made their feelings known about Lovren’s display after the game:
Dislike him not becouse of this game but as a player. Lovren is a liability to the team and puts them on tender hooks. We’ve looked solid then lovren comes in the team. Sakho, matip and VVD all have double shifts to cover when partnering with him

Can we sell a player out of the transfer window?

Really hope Roma or someone else comes in for him in the summer

@LFC needs to get rid of Lovren. Fast. #Lovrenout #Liverpool

He got ragdolled at Wembley ? and in the world cup final ?
Deeney bullied him big time like Kane did at Wembley and Lukaku at Old Trafford ?

Same as totenham game

Just Lovren effect is my best analysis of the game

Lovren was certainly at fault for the first goal, being pinned by Deeney to allow Abdoulaye Doucoure to latch onto the ball and cross for Ismaila Sarr to score.
However, the other ten players on the pitch must take their fair share of the blame as well. The Reds managed just one shot on target all night, and Trent Alexander-Arnold made a horrendous error for Watford’s third. They will need to dust themselves down and ensure they perform much better against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
