Liverpool flop Lazar Markovic could finally be on his way out of Anfield after four underwhelming years, and the club’s fans couldn’t be happier.
The Serbia international moved to Merseyside in 2014 from Benfica after an impressive season in Portugal in which he helped the Eagles win an historic domestic treble.
But the winger has failed to live up to his £20 million price tag since moving to merseyside.
Markovic managed just three goals in 34 goals during his debut season at Anfield, and the 24-year-old has since spent the entirety of his Liverpool career since out on-loan with Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and most recently Anderlecht.
But he could finally be on his way-out of Anfield permanently, with the Evening Standard reporting Anderlecht and Standard Liege are both keen to land the Liverpool forward before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
Markovic is out-of-contract with the Reds next summer, and it is extremely unlikely he will be offered a new deal, meaning Liverpool are likely to sell-up in the next few days to avoid losing him on a free in a year’s time.
Safe to say he won’t be missed at Anfield by the fans …

Finally! Such a promising player when he first signed. Shame he got set back by a lot of injuries. Good luck in your next club Markovic! https://t.co/Sk9y0k0dUE
