Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk was clearly enjoying himself after the Reds lifted the European Super Cup last night. The Merseysiders had to battle hard to win on penalties against Chelsea, and there was delight in the dressing room after the match:

Fans on Twitter were certainly enjoying Van Dijk’s antics, and believe his calmness both during and after the game is typical of the Dutch international’s character:
Absolute poser and I love it.

There were certainly some reasons to be concerned about Liverpool’s defence during the game. It appears the Reds are using a high line with an offside trap this season, which did allow them to catch out Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount for their offside goals.
However, there were occasions where it didn’t work, and Van Dijk will be hoping that both he and his teammates can begin to perfect their approach in the coming weeks. Liverpool face Southampton next up on Saturday.
