Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer. With one year left on his contract, the former Liverpool player will reportedly be sold for between £45m and £50m.
Chelsea are believed to be favourites for the England international’s signature, while Arsenal and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in the player. However, when Reds fans were asked whether Sterling could make a surprise return to Anfield, the response on Twitter was overwhelmingly negative:
Absolutely never!

It is important to point out that Sterling didn’t leave Liverpool on the best of terms. Both the player and his agent made some comments about the club which left a bitter taste in the mouth and there has been understandable animosity towards the 27-year-old ever since.
A move down south to London looks almost certain. Chelsea are expected to make a formal bid for the winger very soon, so the likelihood of him making the switch back to Merseyside is very low indeed.
