Adrian, Carvalho And Firmino To Start, Nunez On The Bench: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play City

Liverpool will be without Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher for the Community Shield clash against Manchester City.

Both the first choice and backup keepers are carrying injuries into the game at the King Power Stadium so manager Jurgen Klopp will have to select Adrian in goal.

In defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are expected to play in the two fullback positions, while Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip could start in the centre of defence.

Klopp may opt for a surprise in midfield, with Fabio Carvalho being given the nod ahead of Thiago as he looks to find out how the youngster will cope against top opposition. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson could provide the experience and protection for the Portuguese talent to flourish.

Up front, new signing Darwin Nunez may have to be satisfied with a place on the bench, with Roberto Firmino being selected as the number nine, with Mo Salah and Luis Diaz playing either side of him.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester City:

Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Carvalho, Salah, Firmino, Diaz
