Real Madrid have now confirmed reports that Eden Hazard won’t be available to face Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie tomorrow evening.
The former Chelsea winger has been struggling with a muscular injury and he won’t be in the travelling party when Real arrive on Merseyside for the game at Anfield.
Considering Hazard has barely featured for the La Liga side since his move to Spain, supporters on Twitter have been debating whether it affects Liverpool’s chances of beating their opponents:
Advantage Liverpool

Real Madrid still have Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Vinicius and Benzema.
so it doesn't really matter

We need to worry about Kroos Modric and Vini rather than Hazard.

While Hazard’s fitness problems are unlikely to tip the tie in the Reds’ favour, Real’s injuries at the back are mounting up. Lucas Vazquez’s absence means manager Zinedine Zidane will have four first-choice defenders unavailable.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side needing two unanswered goals, their chances of progressing to the semi-finals have increased somewhat, although you have to be mindful of the fact that Liverpool’s own defence is pretty vulnerable too.
