Agent of Real Madrid superstar shoots down possibility of Anfield switch

The agent of Marco Asensio has shot down the possibility to the Real Madrid star joining Liverpool this summer.

Asensio has been heavily linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer after a difficult last season at the Bernabeu under former boss Zinedine Zidane.

Asensio started less than half of Madrid’s games last term, and it was rumoured he could leave the Spanish capital in search of more regular first team football.

However after the revelation that Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join Juventus in a shocking £88 million in the days to come, and the future of Gareth Bale still up in the air – it appears Asensio’s opportunities to shine at Madrid will improve next term.

And the 22-year-old’s agent, Horacio Gaggioli, has since confirmed his client certainly won’t be leaving Madrid this summer as he looks to build himself a future at the Bernabeu.

“Marco does not move, he’s growing a lot and next season will be very important for him, he stays at Real Madrid.”

Chelsea were also understood to be interested in the Spaniard – who was part of the Spain squad that crashed out of the World Cup at the hands off Russia in the round-of-16 earlier this month.

Asensio signed for Madrid in 2014 for Mallorca, and has since made 91 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals.
