Agent Provides Update On Coutinho’s Future Amid Liverpool And PSG Links

Kia Joorabchian has revealed that Barcelona intend to keep Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The former Liverpool player has been heavily linked with a return to Anfield, while Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in the Brazilian.

However, Joorabchian has confirmed that he spoke to Barca about Coutinho and he was told that the 27-year-old will be staying put:

“I spoke in recent days with Pep Segura (Barça Director of Football) in Barcelona. He told me that the club did not want to sell Coutinho this summer. Doesn’t matter what price. And then we have had no contact with PSG for Coutinho.”

Barcelona are said to be keen on re-signing Neymar, which would likely put Coutinho’s future at the club in jeopardy.

Although they are teammates at international level, they would be competing for the same position on the left-hand side of Barcelona’s attack.

In addition, Barca would likely need to free up funds to sign Neymar and Coutinho would be the likeliest candidate to be sacrificed.

Coutinho has already hinted that he may make a move away from the Nou Camp, whilst away on international duty with Brazil at the Copa America,

In addition to Liverpool and PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the Brazilian playmaker.
