Agent Reveals Liverpool Star Is Keen To Leave Anfield

The agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has confirmed that the 31-year-old wants to leave the club this summer.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is reluctant to let the Belgian go but speaking out about his client’s future, Nico Vaesen was quoted as saying:

“The goalkeeper game of musical chairs hasn’t started yet. It’s important for Simon to play somewhere, and our goal is still to make him leave. He’s still got a lot to offer, and if we have an offer, we’re counting on Liverpool making an effort.”

The Reds have received no bids for Mignolet that meet their valuation so far, although Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in the shot-stopper.

The problem for Liverpool, currently, is that the Belgian international is the club’s only fit senior goalkeeper.

Alisson Becker is on holiday after triumphing in the Copa America with Brazil while Kamil Grabara has been loaned out to Huddersfield Town.

The only other option would be Caoimhin Kelleher, but he is currently sidelined with a broken wrist. It has meant that the Merseyside club have had to call upon free agent Andy Lonergan to train with the club on a non-contract basis.

Once Kelleher returns to fitness and Alisson returns to training, it may be possible for Mignolet to leave, although Klopp may still block his exit.
