Aldridge Feels Potential “World Superstar” Would Be “Perfectly Suited” To Liverpool Amid Summer Transfer Claims

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho would be a perfect fit to play under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, according to former Reds striker John Aldridge.

The 19-year-old has been linked with the Merseyside club, as well as Chelsea and Manchester United, but Aldridge thinks a move to Anfield would be ideal for both the player and the club:

“Sancho is an interesting option as he is still only 19, pretty experienced and proven in a strong German league and appears to have all the potential to become a genuine world superstar.”

“I’d imagine he’d be excited by the prospect of joining this Liverpool team, and his brand of high-energy football would appear to be perfectly suited to Klopp’s game plan.”

However, Aldridge does have misgivings regarding the finances that would be required to pull off such a transfer. The former Liverpool forward doesn’t think the Reds should sacrifice someone like Mo Salah to get the job done:

“Liverpool would be mad to sell a player of (Salah’s) quality and take a chance on signing someone who would take time to fit in but, of course, the decision could be taken out of their hands. That’s when Liverpool start to look at players like Sancho.”

There is no doubt that Sancho will be in high demand in the summer. He has been in excellent form for Dortmund this campaign, having scored 15 goals and provided 17 assists in 29 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

The England international could well be available at the end of the season, with Dortmund having refused to rule out the sale of the player.
