Alexander Arnold Names The Two Toughest Opponents He Has Ever Faced In The Premier League

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold says Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne are the two toughest players he has faced in the Premier League.

While he did praise De Bruyne,  he reserved special mention for Hazard, with the former Chelsea star being his trickiest opponent by quite some way:

“Hazard. Eden Hazard. The best I’ve probably by a little bit of a distance. Maybe Kevin De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent would have to be Hazard. Speed, agility, his awareness, his intelligence on and off the ball is unreal.”

Alexander-Arnold has certainly come up against some top-class forwards and wingers over the past few years. He had particular trouble with Marcus Rashford early on in his career, and he has had his battles with the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Raheem Sterling.

However, there can be no doubt that Hazard was the most naturally talented of the lot. As Alexander-Arnold mentions himself, the Belgian had everything, with his speed and strength combined with excellent ball control.

Of course, the Reds fullback no longer has to worry about going up against the 30-year-old every season, following his move to Real Madrid a couple of years ago.
