Liverpool’s Alisson Becker has been nominated for the Yachine Trophy. The award is handed out to the goalkeeper who put in the best performances during the 2021/22 season.

Three other Premier League players were named on the ten-man strong shortlist, including Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy, Manchester City’s Ederson and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.

Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and AC Milan’s Mike Maignan were also included among the nominees.

Although Alisson would be a deserving winner after another excellent season in goal for the Reds, many believe that Courtois is the strong favourite for the prize, due to the consistency he showed throughout the course of the campaign.

The Belgian international was excellent in the Champions League final against Liverpool, making a number of top saves, but he had put in a number of other similar displays to help his side win three major trophies.
