Alisson Names The Club That He Has A “Great Desire” To Join After Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker says he wants to return to his first club Internacional before he retires as a professional footballer.

The 27-year-old spent 14 years at the Brazilian club, coming through the youth ranks before making his senior debut in 2013. He then left for Roma in 2016 and speaking in an interview (quotes via UOL Esporte) about his future, the keeper revealed his ambitions:

“I really want to go back to Inter, because it is a place that I love to be, the club that I love. Everything that I have, living out here [in Europe] has been very special, I want to make the most of it here, but I know that this one hour will also pass.”

“There will come a time when this cycle will also end, and I have a great desire to return to Inter.”

Hopefully, Alisson only goes back to Brazil after many more years at Anfield. He has been superb over the past two seasons for the Reds, being an assured presence at the back and making top-class saves when called upon.

Some questioned whether Liverpool had overpaid when they shelled out £67m on the Brazilian international but he has been more than worth his price tag.

The Reds had struggled with the goalkeeping position for many years before Alisson’s arrival, and his signing was one of the key reasons why Jurgen Klopp’s side have been able to challenge for trophies.
