Liverpool are said to be weighing up a bid for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. The German international reportedly has a release clause of £27m, which can be triggered either in January or at the end of the season.
Supporters on Twitter believe that the 23-year-old’s availability for such a low price should make tabling a bid for the forward a simple decision:
For the price he’d cost it’s an absolute no brainer. His scoring record over the past 3 seasons speaks for itself

100 percent need him , we pick up a lot off injuries , Brewster isn’t ready yet needs a loan spell imo

Plus Werner can play anywhere on the front 3. would be a brilliant long term cover

Werner is a step above any of our bench attackers

Top class player who can add depth, dimension, & goals. Would be a very welcome addition, imo.

If he had a £80 m tag it would be pointless, but for that price tag is a no brainer ?

No brainer. Quality player.

Absolutely would take him. The front 3 will need resting at times. Origi is a super sub but Brewster is nowhere near ready for the 1st team yet.

Strength in depth. Just look at man city, nothing else really needed to say ??♂️

If we want to show ambition, then yes. City have better squad depth than us ATM. Genuine world class depth at each position. Not saying we need to be like them, but they're setting the Pace. Werner can play anywhere across the front 3. It's smart business, so it's a ja from me

Manchester United are said to be interested in Werner, while Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring the player’s situation. The German is in excellent form at the moment, having scored a hat-trick, as well as providing three assists, in Leipzig’s 8-0 win against Mainz on Saturday.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will likely be considering whether he needs another forward. While Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane continue to excel up front, there is a lack of cover for the front three following Daniel Sturridge’s departure in the summer.
