Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah celebrated his team’s massive 7-0 win over rivals Manchester United at Anfield with a post on Instagram.
In the post, Salah is seen celebrating one of his two goals against the Red Devils on Sunday – he was booked for taking his shirt off, but we’re sure it was well worth it.
For the post’s caption, Salah wrote: “An extraordinary day for all Liverpool fans. I’m honoured to keep making history with this great club!”

At this point in time, Salah’s post has an enormous 2.3 million likes on Instagram. Several of Salah’s Liverpool teammates liked the photo, including Jordan Henderson and Darwin Nunez.
Additionally, a few more left a comment on the post – among them were former Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo and Kostas Tsimikas.
Liverpool were excellent against Manchester United, ripping open their rivals time and time again. Cody Gakpo, who United were allegedly chasing in the January transfer window, finally made his mark as he netted a brace.
Salah himself was also brilliant. The Egyptian speedster scored a brace himself – he also set up a further two goals in the game, giving Diogo Dalot an afternoon to forget.
The win saw Liverpool rocket up the table – they are now above Newcastle and are also eight points above big spenders Chelsea.
Can Liverpool use this result as a springboard for a late-season Champions League push? We’ll have to wait and see – but the win over United was certainly encouraging viewing.
