“Arsenal Remain Interested…” Journalist Warns Liverpool Of Late Hijack As They Close In On £65M Deal

Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are still interested in signing Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

The Italian reporter says that, despite claims that the Reds are close to snapping up the Brighton star, there remains a risk that the transfer could be hijacked:

“Despite the advance of talks with Liverpool, let’s pay attention anyway to the competition for the Argentine midfielder, because Arsenal remain interested in him, as well as Manchester United and Manchester City. Both the Manchester clubs would like to speed up things for [signing] him to overtake Liverpool.”

While Galetti is right to point out that a last-ditch offer from a Premier League rival cannot be ruled out, everything currently points towards Mac Allister joining Liverpool.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement on personal terms is close and that the deal could be wrapped up at some point next week.

Mac Allister may cost Liverpool less than reported

It is believed that the Argentinian international does have a release clause in his contract and some have put the buyout fee as high as £70m.

However, recent reports suggest it could even be below £65m. For a player like Mac Allister, who is still only 24 years of age, that would be an excellent piece of business.

Whether other Premier League clubs will make a late move for the World Cup winner, as Galetti suggests, we shall have to wait and see.
