Arsenal’s Emery Eyeing Up Move For Liverpool Defender On Free Transfer

Arsenal are interested in signing Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno on a free transfer, according to reports in the English media.

The Spaniard’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer and the Merseyside club haven’t entered negotiations about extending his stay.

Moreno’s likeliest destination would be a return to Spain, but the Gunners’ interest could see the 26-year-old remaining in the Premier League.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery worked with the fullback at Sevilla and this seems to be the driving force behind the London club’s pursuit of the defender.

Nacho Monreal’s contract also expires at the end of the season, and even if the 32-year-old does stay at the Emirates, it is believed Moreno could be lined up as a backup with Emery not a fan of Sead Kolasinac.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are said to be keen on bringing in Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell as a replacement. The Reds tried to sign the England international last summer but opted for Andy Robertson as a cheaper option.
