“As Long As It Doesn’t Change…” Van Nistelrooy Speaks Out After 2 PSV Stars Are Linked With Premier League Moves

Both Cody Gakpo and Ibrahim Sangare are expected to stay at PSV Eindhoven, according to the Dutch club’s head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The two players have been linked with Liverpool this summer, but van Nistelrooy believes they will both be remaining at the Philips Stadion, as long as sizeable bids are not received for the pair:

“I’ve spoken to both of them and they both really want to stay and be part of the preparation. They are now going full for the start of the season…The reality is that clubs can come forward and come up with huge amounts, but we assume they will stay as long as it doesn’t change.”

Back in March, trusted journalist David Ornstein reported that Liverpool and Arsenal were keen on securing Gakpo’s signature but, since then, it appears they have both taken a step back from making a formal offer.

The situation is slightly different with Sangare. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle have been scouting the midfielder, along with Jurgen Klopp’s side, but nobody has been tempted to table a bid despite the existence of a release clause.

Reports suggest that the Ivorian international can be signed if a club is prepared to pay the buyout fee, which stands at €35m (£29.6m).
