Liverpool have joined Arsenal and Tottenham in the “fight” to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka, according to The Mirror reporter David Maddock.
The usually reliable journalist claims that the Reds are keen to secure the centre-back’s signature on a free transfer this summer:

Ndicka was linked with Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Spanish press last week and it appears there is genuine interest in the 23-year-old. Fans on Twitter are backing a move for the centre-back:

We need two centre backs , Antonio Silva and Ndicka both . Considering Virgil’s current form , he should be released within 2 years . So 2 backup is heavily needed . And Konate is injury prone also .

As some supporters have pointed out, it looks like a very shrewd acquisition. Liverpool don’t have a left-footed centre-back so Ndicka would provide great cover for Virgil van Dijk.
With Nat Phillips and, potentially, Joel Matip also leaving, it will allow the Reds to bring in a replacement without paying a transfer fee, saving the club’s funds for revamping the midfield.
The fact that Ndicka will be a free agent, though, means he will have a long list of suitors so Klopp’s sales pitch will have to be pretty convincing.
