Bascombe Shares Exciting Update On Liverpool Star’s Fitness As Return Date Is Pencilled In

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara could make his long-awaited comeback from injury when the Reds face Newcastle United on December 30th, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe.

The Spanish international has not made an appearance since sustaining a knee injury in the 2-2 draw against Everton back in October, but he is now closing in on a return to full fitness.

Thiago has been pictured in full training this week, along with Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner who have also recovered from recent injury setbacks. While the Spaniard is not expected to be involved against West Brom on Sunday, he could be included in the squad that travels to St James’ Park next Wednesday.

Liverpool’s midfield has coped pretty well in the 29-year-old’s absence, with youngster Curtis Jones having impressed with his performances, but manager Jurgen Klopp will be glad to have more options to rotate in the middle of the park over a busy festive period.
