Bayern Munich superstar set for shock reunion with Jurgen Klopp

Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski could be set for a shock reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this summer.

The Poland international’s future at the Allianz Arena, and is now reportedly eyeing a move to the Premier League come the end of the season.

While Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be keeping tabs on the 29-year-old, it is understood he would prefer a move to Liverpool and a reunion with his former manager Jurgen Klopp.

With the Polish ace reaching a point in his career where his next contract may be his last big deal, a move to join one of the Premier League big boys might be just what Robert Lewandowski is starting to think about. Man City and Chelsea are already showing serious interest in signing the Polish marksman but they may find themselves down the pecking order as it appears the possibility of a Robert Lewandowski and Jurgen Klopp reunion is becoming more and more likely.

The duo spent time together at Borussia Dortmund, where they won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12, and Lewandowski has not been shy in singing the praises of his former coach.

“He was the one who gave me belief,” Lewandowski said of Klopp speaking in the Daily Mail.

“In the first three or four months in training, we would have this game — him against the striker. There would be a bet between me and him.

“In the first few training sessions, he was always winning! After that, not so much! Every time after, he lost! He didn’t want to play anymore! It was €50 a game and by the end I had a positive balance! But I saw for the first time with him how important it was [to] train.

“When I came to Dortmund, it wasn’t so good. He told me to improve. He showed me what I had to do.”

Since leaving Dortmund in 2014, Lewandowski has established himself as one of world football’s most deadly frontmen. In three-and-a-half seasons with Bayern, the Pole has hit a brilliant 139 goals, helping his side to three consecutive Bundesliga titles.
