BBC Pundit Selects 2 Liverpool Players, 2 Arsenal Youngsters And 4 City Stars In His ‘Team Of The Week’

Garth Crooks has named Liverpool fullbacks Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in his “Team of the Week” following their displays against Newcastle and Tottenham.

The BBC pundit praised Alexander-Arnold for being “incredibly consistent” this season, while he also decided that Robertson deserved a place despite being sent off versus Spurs.

It was an eventful game for the Scotland captain, providing the assist for Diogo Jota, scoring to put the Reds 2-1 up, being on the receiving end of a hefty challenge from Harry Kane, which should have resulted in a red card, whilst being sent for early shower himself.

In terms of the rest of the team, Crooks gave places to Arsenal pair Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka for their performances in the 4-1 victory over Leeds on Saturday.

No less than four Manchester City players were included, with Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden praised following Pep Guardiola side’s convincing win against Newcastle.

Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Wolves’ Romain Saiss and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey made up the rest of Crooks’ eleven.
