The summer transfer window is well underway in the Premier League – today, we will rank five of the best signings that have taken place so far.

We’ll be looking at transfers completed by clubs such as Brighton, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Liverpool for the purposes of this list.

We won’t necessarily be looking at the most high-profile moves for this list – the overall transfer cost of each player will also be considered. For example, while Kai Havertz could prove to be a roaring success for Arsenal, we feel his fee of £65 million is a little high.

Additionally, while the Declan Rice transfer from West Ham United to Arsenal is all but complete, we won’t be featuring it on this list, as the deal has yet to be confirmed by the Gunners.
