Betting suspended as Ligue 1 closes in on Liverpool move

Nabil Fekir’s proposed move to Liverpool appears to be edging closer after betting has been suspended on the Frenchman joining the Reds.

Reports over the last week suggest Liverpool are ready to launch a phenomenal £60 million to beat the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal to the signature of the Lyon star.

And after a host of big bets have come in on the Frenchman moving to Merseyside, betting syndicate Coral have suspended the market on the 24-year-old’s new team.

Coral’s John Hill told Starsport: “Punters have been backing Nabil Fekir to move to Liverpool like it is a done deal.

“As a result we have suspended betting on his future as it looks as though Jurgen Klopp has beaten the competition for the Lyon man.”

Renowned French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin also belives Fekir to Liverpool is a done deal, tweeting: “Fekir met Klopp, very good talks between them.

“Fekir will sign at Liverpool for £61m unless [something] unforeseen [happens]. Chelsea also tried their luck without success.”

Fekir has scored 20 goals in 36 appearances for Lyon in all competitions this season.
