Liverpool right-back Neco Williams will be handed his senior debut by Jurgen Klopp in tonight’s game against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, according to Goal’s Liverpool correspondent Neil Jones.
With Ki-Jana Hoever away on international duty with the Netherlands at the Under 17 World Cup, it means there’s an opportunity for another youngster to impress. Supporters are keenly anticipating the 18-year-old’s first start:
Brilliant. I don't want to see key first teamers in the lineup tonight. Will be good to see the kids up against real talented kids at Arsenal

Nice to see hard work pay off for young right-back Neco Williams. He’s killed it in the UEFA Youth League and in the domestic competitions this season. Now rewarded with an Anfield debut against Arsenal tonight.

Definitely excited to see him play. He's always impressed me when I've watched youth team games.

Brilliant, seems to be a pretty swift rise up the ranks for the young man.

Interesting. Would’ve preferred Larouchi to start but can’t see both starting since we need some experience at the back

He’s decent for his age, but it will be good to see how he fairs with first team players for Arsenal.

Williams won’t be the only player making his full debut for the club tonight it seems. Sepp van den Berg is also expected to start in the centre of defence. The summer signing from Zwolle came on as a substitute in the last round against the MK Dons to make his first appearance but he is now in line for his first start.
Joel Matip’s injury may lead to the Reds resting Dejan Lovren for the game with van den Berg slotting in alongside Joe Gomez in the centre of defence. With Caoimhin Kelleher expected to start in goal, the backline will have a distinctly unfamiliar look to it this evening.
