Liverpool are leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to reports in the English media.
The Reds are keen to land the England international next summer and, while Dortmund may demand £90m for the player, it is not believed that the price tag will put them off from making a bid.
Supporters on Twitter are keeping their fingers crossed that the reports will turn out to be true, although some are very sceptical about the club paying a club record fee for Bellingham:
Bring him home

Maybe in 2023 or 2024 as he has a contract till 2025. But right now highly unlikely with his reported 100 million price tag!

Gonna be interesting how we afford Bellingham 70mill fee without selling any first 11 players….

Love to see it

It wouldn't surprise me if we went for him as FSG always said they would be in for the best young talent as they will always have sell on value. Weve had a relatively quiet last couple of windows so could be due a splurge 🤞

Other Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have also been linked with Bellingham in recent months but Liverpool are seemingly in pole position currently.
While fans are right to get excited about the potential signing, these stories should be treated with caution. Sources in Germany have consistently said that Dortmund won’t sell Bellingham at the end of the season while the Bundesliga club’s valuation may force the Reds to cool their interest in the 18-year-old.
