Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice as the Netherlands came out 2-1 winners against Belarus in a Euro 2020 qualifier yesterday evening.
The 28-year-old has a fantastic scoring record at international level over the past year, having scored seven goals since October 2018. In the same period, the midfielder has hit the back of the net just five times for the Reds.
Supporters on Twitter would dearly love Wijnaldum to score a few more for Liverpool:
Bring these shooting boots back to Anfield! Well in Gini! ??

I don't get how Gini keeps on banging goals at home but hardly scores when in Liverpool color… Anyways thanks for Sheffield…

There’s no doubt that the Dutch international could be a bit more clinical at club level. His only goal for the Reds this season came after Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson made an error in the 1-0 win at Bramall Lane last month.
However, it must be pointed out that Wijnaldum plays a different role for Liverpool, playing a lot deeper than he does for the Netherlands. After scoring a double last night, though, Reds fans will be hoping his confidence will be high going into the match against Manchester United this weekend.
