Bundesliga Club Chief Gives Timeframe On Potential Liverpool Bid As Battle For 27M Rated Target Heats Up

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed they are anticipating an offer for midfielder Thiago Alcantara at the start of next week.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly very keen on the Reds snapping up the 29-year-old, and when asked about the latest developments on the Spaniard’s future, Rummenigge revealed that the Bundesliga champions are bracing themselves for bids:

“We are expecting an offer from another club in the next few days. He told us that at the end of his career, he would like to try something new.”

Thiago is not only interesting Liverpool, with Arsenal also reportedly keen. Manchester United have also been linked with the midfielder in recent days. The player himself, though, is thought to have his heart set on a move to Anfield but negotiations over a transfer fee are likely to be difficult.

Bayern are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of €30m (£27m) but, with the Spanish international able to sign on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, the Reds will be keen to lower the price.
