Bundesliga Star “Open Minded” About Premier League Switch As Liverpool Consider January Transfer Raid

RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer is “open minded” about a potential move to the Premier League, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Reports in the German media suggest that Liverpool are considering making a bid for the Austrian in January but Jones says they may have to move quickly to prevent other teams signing the player:

“There is a belief that Laimer is open minded about the idea of landing in the Premier League, and from a Liverpool point of view, it might be a good time to turn their interest into something more concrete before someone else moves for him.”

Laimer is also reportedly being targeted by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, while both Chelsea and Manchester United have also been tipped as potential destinations.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have done a lot of groundwork on the deal already. They attempted to snap up the 25-year-old in the summer, only for Leipzig to block the deal.

Since then, Laimer has admitted he is a “fan” of Liverpool, suggesting a move to Merseyside could be on the cards if the Reds do table an offer. With the Austrian international unlikely to sign a new contract, you would think Leipzig would be more open to doing business in January to prevent the player from leaving on a free transfer.
