Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn is set to join Oxford United on a season-long loan, according to reports in England.
Many expected the 19-year-old to join a Championship club, but the fact that he could be plying his trade in League One has raised questions about his potential.
Some fans have already written off Woodburn:
He disappointed in the championship last year, but any player going to league 1 can’t have a future at lfc

I don’t want to scud the lad. Harry Kane done he’s fair share of loaned clubs. But from going to championship to league 1 is a huge drop the standard is a massive difference. You should have expect double figures if he’s as good as originally claimed

Think it would be better to leave the club. Sad to say but he hasn't gone on and developed how expected. Not featured in pre season and now behind Wilson, Kent, Brewster and Elliott. Don't see a future for him

He’s not good enough

That’s he standard at the moment! Has be on the decline, since his debut season for Liverpool

While other supporters are hoping that his move to the English third tier will help him get regular matches and develop his game:
Maybe getting into the national side just after breaking into the LFC first team and scoring the goals he did, the exposure to him has had an adverse affect on his football, also he's not used in a specific position, I think this will be a good move for him under Karl Robinson..

Ben is just 19 and everyone writing him off is disgusting.

This will be good for his career…and good for Liverpool…he just need that little bit of luck to be succesfull..nothing is lost yet…

It is a difficult one to call without knowing all the facts, but it is concerning that Woodburn would be allowed to leave for a club in League One.
At the moment, the teenager is clearly not deemed capable of playing regularly in the Championship. He did struggle on loan at Sheffield United last season and perhaps taking a step down will help him regain his confidence.
It’s certainly way too early to write him off as many players have taken their time to get to grips with senior football before excelling at the top level. Fans will be hoping he makes huge strides out of the limelight at Oxford.
