Carragher Warns Liverpool Could Be Exposed By Arsenal’s Front Three If Major Issue Isn’t Rectified

Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has issued a warning to his former side ahead of the Reds’ game against Arsenal at the weekend.

The Merseyside club have looked suspect defensively in the opening weeks of the season, and the former player believes that vulnerability will be exposed by the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette if it isn’t rectified quickly:

“When you think of Aubameyang, Lacazette, Pepe maybe coming on also. When I say Liverpool have got away with it, the quality of the opposition hasn’t been top class, and I said it after the Norwich game, if they were playing a top team today, they wouldn’t have won. Considering they won 4-1, it’s a big thing to say I suppose.”

“But the quality Arsenal have, if Liverpool get caught in those positions and don’t run back they’re going to have major problems within the game.”

With record signing Nicolas Pepe also close to starting his first game for the Gunners, Liverpool’s defence could be put under all sorts of pressure at Anfield on Saturday.

Aubameyang has already scored two in his first two league games, while Lacazette opened the scoring against Burnley last time out. With the Reds having looked vulnerable to the through ball and crosses against the likes of Chelsea and Southampton, it does look like this could be a high scoring contest.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that manager Jurgen Klopp will be able to tighten up the backline before this weekend’s clash.
