Chelsea Join Liverpool In Race To Secure 25M Rated Marksman

Chelsea are the latest club to challenge Liverpool for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, according to Sky In Germany.

The sports news channel say that the Blues have made enquiries about the Zambian international, along with RB Leipzig and Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Last week, it was claimed that West Ham were leading Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Daka, with reports suggesting Salzburg would sell the player for around £25m.

However, it has since been reported that Liverpool are more advanced in their talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives than other teams.

Whatever the truth of the matter, it seems very likely that Daka will be leaving his current club this summer. His agent Freddie Kanoute told reporters in April that the striker was looking to move teams:

“I think it’s time for a new challenge at the end of the season, he really got going this season. He is developing almost daily.”

After scoring 34 goals in 42 appearances last season, it is not surprising that the forward is being pursued by so many clubs so we shall see who ends up winning the battle for his signature.
