Chelsea V Liverpool: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will know that his team will need to improve their defending when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday.

They got away with letting in three goals on the opening day versus Leeds and will need to be at their best when going up against a revamped Blues team, who have been very active in the transfer market this summer.

The Reds have only one player on the treatment table currently. Both Kostas Tsimikas and Xherdan Shaqiri returned to training this week, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Chelsea, however, have quite a few fitness concerns. Timo Werner is a doubt with a dead leg, Ben Chilwell is still recovering from a heel problem and Christian Pulisic is struggling with a hamstring injury.

Thiago Silva is building up his fitness after only returning to training last weekend while Hakim Ziyech and Billy Gilmour (both knee) have been ruled out for the game.

The bookies have made Liverpool the favourites with William Hill pricing them at 6/5 for the win. A draw is 14/5 with Unibet while a Chelsea victory is 9/4 at Betway.

Predicted Score – 2-2
