Borussia Dortmund will not sell midfielder Jude Bellingham for less than €120m (£104m), according to reports in the German media.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked with the teenager in recent months but Dortmund appear to be trying to scare off potential suitors with their asking price.
It’s more than likely that Bellingham’s sky-high valuation is the reason why Jurgen Klopp’s side have decided to wait a year before going into the market again for a midfielder.
The Reds were keen on doing a deal for Aurelien Tchouameni this summer but, after the Frenchman opted to join Real instead, they have not made a concerted effort to sign an alternative.
Bellingham’s price tag may well drop next year. The England international will have two years left on his contract and Dortmund would have to make a decision on his future if he opts against signing an extension.
