“Complicated” Paul Joyce Provides New Update On Liverpool’s Pursuit Of 100M Rated Bundesliga Midfielder

Liverpool’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is “complicated”, according to The Times journalist Paul Joyce.

The newspaper’s Northern football correspondent, who is usually very reliable when it comes to the Reds, claims the 18-year-old’s asking price, combined with the potential sale of Erling Haaland, will make it difficult for the teenager to move clubs this summer:

“Jude Bellingham is complicated because of the price and the fact they [Dortmund] could lose Haaland this summer – the last figure I saw quoted was £100 million – I think that complicates interest in him.”

Bellingham has been linked with a whole host of English teams, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea but Joyce has previously confirmed that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the England international.

As he points out, though, it is hard to imagine the Merseyside club paying anything close to what Dortmund would demand for the midfielder.

Considering the Reds’ transfer record still stands from when they paid £75m for Virgil van Dijk in 2018 (over four years ago), the likelihood of them surpassing that figure to bring in Bellingham is very low indeed.
