‘Could Be Firmino’s Successor’ ‘Future Superstar’ Liverpool Fans Excited As New Summer Signing Is All But Confirmed

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan has all but admitted that attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho will be leaving Craven Cottage for Liverpool this summer.

Although the transfer hasn’t been officially announced, Khan claimed that a deal for the teenager had already been struck:

“We would have loved to have kept him. But we have made a deal that is best for the club and, since that agreement, it’s worked out wonderfully because he has been such a valuable part of the promotion. Marco [Silva] has done a great job with him. They have a great relationship, and Fabio has been tremendous for us. He’s a huge part of the squad, and it’s a massive loss, but because we have done good business, we can do good business to make sure we are strong in that position.”

Carvalho has played an instrumental role in helping Fulham gain promotion this season. It led to links to a host of teams including Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham but it appears the Reds have secured his signature, and supporters on Twitter are very excited by the 19-year-old’s potential:

It will be interesting to see where Carvalho fits into Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans next campaign. He already has the ability to make an impact in the Premier League but there are question marks over his best position.

For Fulham, the Portuguese Under 21 international has mostly played as a no.10; a position that doesn’t exist in Klopp’s 4-3-3 system. Whether he’ll be deployed as an 8, out on the wings or even up front, we shall have to wait and see.
