“Could Go Right To The Top” Redknapp Reveals What He Has Heard About One Liverpool Youngster

Former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp says he is very excited about the future of Harvey Elliott after hearing how highly he is rated by Reds teammate James Milner.

Elliott played against Aston Villa in the 5-0 League Cup defeat last night and speaking about the 16-year-old, Redknapp said he had spoken to Milner about the teenager’s potential:

“This kid has got special talent. 16-years of age, nice left foot, he’s got great vision. He is one, and I know James Milner thinks the same because I spoke to him earlier, who could go right to the top.”

Milner is not the only one who thinks Elliott is a huge prospect. Danny Murphy, who played for both the Reds and Fulham, has watched the midfielder’s development at Craven Cottage and was very happy when the Reds snapped him up in the summer.

Elliott impressed against Villa last night despite the youngsters losing heavily at Villa Park, and he was also a standout performer when the Reds triumphed over the MK Dons back in September.

How close the teenager is to making his breakthrough into the first team, it remains to be seen, but he is certainly a player with a big future ahead of him.
