Could this Liverpool starting-XI challenge for the Premier League next season?

Liverpool made a huge signal of intent only hours after their Champions League final loss to Real Madrid by completing the signing of highly rated Brazil midfielder Fabinho.

The AS Monaco star will join the Reds on July 1st after having completed a £43.7 million move on Monday afternoon.

After putting pen to paper, the 24-year-old revealed his delight at having completed his Anfield switch, saying: “This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional.

“I will try to create my own history at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles with this club. I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be part of the club’s history.”

Fabinho becomes Liverpool’s second signing of this summer, after the pre-agreed transfer of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, who will join the club on the same day as Fabinho.

But business isn’t done there for the Reds, with a number of high profile names being linked with the club.

Lyon’s Nabil Fekir is one, who is widely expected to join forces with Jurgen Klopp in the coming weeks after an impressive 23-goal haul last season.

AS Roma shotstopper Allisson is another. Liverpool are keen to add a new keeper (a desire intensified after Saturday’s shocking performance from Loris Karius), and Fabinho’s countrymen is understood to the be top of the wish-list.

With four additions, and maybe more, likely this summer for Liverpool – could this side challenge for the Premier title next season?
