Thiago Alcantara is likely to make his debut for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup against Lincoln City next Thursday, according to journalist David Maddock.
Some supporters on Twitter had been hoping that the Spanish international would be available for the clash against Chelsea on Sunday but they are still excited to see the 29-year-old put on the Red shirt for the first time:
Couldn’t it be done in time for him to play on Sunday?

As Maddock mentions, his medical is expected to take place today but Thiago would need to be officially signed by tomorrow to be registered for the match at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Even if that were to happen, though, manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t generally make alterations to his starting eleven at such short notice. He would have been planning his strategy for the Chelsea game all week in training so the best the fans could hope for is a place on the bench for the player versus the Blues.
