Coutinho Keen On Sensational Return To Liverpool But There’s A Problem

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho would be keen on a return to Liverpool, according to Sport. However, the Catalan publication reports that the Brazilian is aware that any deal is unlikely due to the number of attacking players in the Reds squad.

After a loan move to Tottenham collapsed yesterday, it now seems increasingly likely that the player will be staying put at the Camp Nou, at least until the New Year.

With the English transfer window closing, it restricts the possible destinations for Coutinho with Juventus and Bayern Munich said to be the only other realistic options financially.

Bayern have not shown any interest in the 27-year-old up until now, while Juve may only be an option if they offload Paulo Dybala, who has also been linked with a switch to Spurs.

Coutinho’s old club Inter Milan have also be suggested but they are likely to spend most of their money on signing Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
