Liverpool have confirmed that Under 23 striker Joe Hardy has signed a contract extension with the club. The 21-year-old only moved from Championship side Brentford in January and he has been impressing the club’s staff with his performances.

Manager Jurgen Klopp gave the forward his first-team debut back in February when he came on during the second half of the 1-0 win against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

Supporters on Twitter think it was a good decision by the Reds to keep Hardy on board:

The former Manchester City academy graduate certainly knows where the goal is, having scored seven goals in the club’s youth ranks during the first few months of his time at the Merseyside club.

Hardy is a local lad too, having been born in the Wirral, and he will be determined to kick on when the Under 23s return to action in the not too distant future.
