Crouch Hails “Masterstoke” Signing Who Is “Absolutely Made” For Liverpool

Ex-Liverpool striker Peter Crouch thinks his former club have done a great piece of business by signing Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.

The TV pundit says he has watched the Austrian club on a number of occasions and the Japanese international was one of two players that always stood out:

“Whenever I have watched Salzburg, though, the two players who have stood out are Takumi Minamino and Hwang Hee-chan – and Liverpool appear to have pulled off a masterstroke by signing the Japan midfielder Minamino for £7.25million.”

“That, believe me, is a bargain. Minamino is absolutely made for Liverpool’s aggressive, fast style under Jurgen Klopp. He is a welcome addition to the Premier League.”

Minamino will join the Reds on January 1st when the transfer window reopens. The 24-year-old has been outstanding ever since he arrived from Gamba Osaka in 2015.

During the last five seasons, the Japanese playmaker has racked up 64 goals and laid on 44 assists in 199 appearances. Although most of those games have been in the Austrian Bundesliga, he has also impressed in European competitions.

Minamino has managed to score 11 goals and provide seven assists in 39 Champions League and Europa League games since his arrival in Europe, and he will be hoping the step up won’t be too great when he makes his first appearance in the Premier League.
