David James Claims There Is One Big Factor That Will Help Jude Bellingham Decide Between Liverpool, City And Chelsea

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James believes that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham will decide on his next club based on the team’s managerial situation.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to leave Anfield in 2024, with Pep Guardiola currently scheduled to depart the Etihad at the end of next season. With Chelsea seemingly on a never-ending carousel of managers, James believes that Bellingham may favour either the Reds or Manchester City if the situations at the two teams remain stable:

“The only question that you’d have to ask if you’re Jude is how long is Jurgen Klopp going to be there [at Liverpool]? I imagine that would have an influence when it comes to him choosing his next club and the same can be said for Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel at Manchester City and Chelsea respectively as those two sides are reportedly interested too. Everything at Liverpool is solid and Manchester City likewise but that’s heavily dependent on Pep Guardiola being there. With Chelsea, in two years’ time, you can imagine that they’ll have a different manager.”

Manchester United are also said to be very keen on Bellingham but, considering the fact that the Red Devils seem to stumble from one crisis to another, you would have to think they’d be the least likely destination currently.

In terms of Liverpool’s prospects, the financial aspect of the deal would be a big obstacle. Dortmund are expected to demand £90m or more for the England international and it would be a surprise if the Merseyside club broke their transfer record for a teenager.
