Liverpool may need to pay as much as £50m to secure the signature of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to reports.
There have been claims in the Ecuadorian media that the Reds are seriously considering a move for the 20-year-old before the transfer window closes.
Other teams (including Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham) have also been credited with an interest in Caicedo so Brighton may feel they can hold out for a sizeable fee. However, fans on Twitter don’t think the midfielder would be worth the outlay:
Definitely not worth that much, it’s starting to look like desperation mode now.

Considering Caicedo has only made thirteen appearances in English football, you would have to say the figure being mentioned is well over the odds.
However, prices in the transfer market can be pretty mad, and the Reds will have to make a decision about whether Caicedo’s potential warrants the fee. The Merseyside club are not afraid to spend big for young players, but many feel that it would be a big risk shelling out so much on the Ecuadorian.
