‘Deserves A Knighthood’ ‘Financial Masterclass’ – Liverpool Fans On Twitter Praise Sporting Director After £19m Sale

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke was sold to Bournemouth for £19m, according to multiple reports.

The England international was signed from Chelsea for a fee in between £3m and £10m, and the Reds have made a massive profit on the player they recruited just 18 months ago.

Supporters on Twitter are all praising Sporting Director Michael Edwards for masterminding the transfer:

Other notable sales that Edwards has agreed with other clubs include the £142m from Barcelona for Phillipe Coutinho and £12m from Leicester City for goalkeeper Danny Ward.

He has also been a key figure in Liverpool’s recruitment strategy since he was appointed in November 2016. The £75m signing of Virgil van Dijk, the £67m deal for Alisson, the £54m spent on Naby Keita and the £40m transfer of Fabinho have all been agreed under his watch.

There have been very few duds so far since his appointment and Reds fans are certainly very appreciative of the job he’s currently doing.
